Le tsunami des technologies numériques (2)

Pour que tout puisse être bouleversé, il fallait la conjonction de plusieurs conditions maintenant réunies :

- Chacun, ou presque, a sur lui, vingt-quatre heures sur vingt-quatre, un terminal connecté à haut débit, géolocalisé, et doté d’un écran de qualité,

- Le coût d’utilisation est bas,

- La puce du terminal certifie l’identité de son détenteur et permet des transactions financières,

- La génération Y qui a grandi avec Internet et sait intuitivement s’en servir, est montée en puissance,

- La masse des données peut être traitée dynamiquement pour en extraire des connaissances et des informations structurées.

Cette conjonction ouvre le champ à des innovations qui dynamitent les entreprises existantes.

C’est bien le propos de Steve Blank dans un dossier récent publié par Compass :

« With two billion broadband Internet users and billions of smartphones now entering circulation, the necessary tools and infrastructure are in place for the Information Age to burst into full bloom, moving beyond the confines of just the technology world to transform all aspects of society. » 

 « If the traditional Industrial Era approach to decreasing costs and the traditional approach to increasing revenue have both reached a point of diminishing returns, what then is the solution? The answer is disruptive innovation; achieved through the creation of new Information Era products and services. » ⁽¹⁾
